READ: FAITH BUILDERS' MARCH teaching by Opeyemi Daniel Abatan

```_1 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: 2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled._```
*2 Corinthians 10*
Good evening everyone!!!
As we go into this short but precise exposition tonight, we ask the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ that our eyes of understanding be enlightened.
 That we may understand and comprehend everything concerning Him and how it relates to us.
And that the word finds it’s resting place in our hearts and fuses to the core of our nature.
And we decree that we are made better citizens of the kingdom of God. Amen.
Our major focus is on the  fourth verse of the selected context.
It says
```_Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ_```
As much as I love to quote this on it’s own; Yet it is important that we discuss this verse in relation to the preceding and succeeding verses.
Now from verse 1
Paul declaring himself to be humble in the presence of the church of Achaia, Corinth but in their absence speaks/acts boldly in confidence of the state of the people in the church of Achaia, Corinth.
It is understood that, humility in this context means that he was always choosing not to do the talking/defendings for at least, they have learnt so much. Therefore, letting them prove how much they have learnt by they standing up for themselves irrespective of his own presence there.
*This indicates the assurance paul had concerning the maturity of the believers of Achaia, Corinth*
For this reason, he further appealed that they should continue in that not giving reason for him to come boasting/being bold/defending for them. As much as he would want to do that to confront those who have it in thought that the ways of Paul and every of his followers/disciples are carnal/unspiritual.
On to verse 3
Paul stated that, him responding to the confrontations, accusations, contentions and arguments being posed by these people is the real unspiritual way as the body of believers to not wage war/respond to/contend against accusations/persecutions the same way a carnal man would do.
That is what he meant by
*For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds*
Though we have this human body with which do most of our daily runnings as man yet, because we are no more considered to be human, because we are no longer men, because we are Christ’s, because as he is so are we in this world; we do not respond to things of the flesh just the way ordinary men would
_I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me._ *Galatians 2:20*
Though, we get other believers saying that we do not become fools because we gave our life to Christ. But, it is best to know these that it is that;
_That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus_ *Philemon 1:6*

_For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men. 10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor._ *1 Corinthians 4*
This is why as believers, we do not these things for ourselves, but for the sake of unbelievers and young believers.
Verse 5 of our context says, we should cast down imaginations, thoughts, arguments and high things that raises themselves above the knowledge of Christ to become subject to the obedience of Christ.
One major popular error again is that they use this verse to pray against witches and wizards of their fathers’ house and the people tying their glory or whatever they may call it. (that’s a discussion for another day).
But this portion of the scripture is talking about yourself and the way your mind works. It talks about the essentiality or UNLEARNING, LEARNING & RELEARNING in the place of spiritual growth.
It is talking about, when somehow you have and headache, you do not run around to doctors declaring/acknowledging that you have an headache knowing well that  THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST constitutes that _and these signs shall follow them who believe. In my name…     …they will heal the sick *mark 16* . HOWBEIT that you that you are a channel of healing is now being held up by a sickness.

It is talking about, all the myths about the witches of your father’s house that you believe in to be existing that know ye not that
_for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily, 10 and in him ye are made full, who is the head of all principality and power_
_having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he hath taken it out that way, nailing it to the cross; 15 having despoiled the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it._ *Colossians 2*
Knowing this and adding it up to your KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST, howbeit that it is now that you have been saved and you have the power of the holy spirit that one dark power has hold over you, why couldn’t they prevent you from being saved.

When you feel down or unhappy, the KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST speaks saying that _for the fruits of the spirit is love, JOY, peace……. *Howbeit that you remain unhappy*

You are broke and it is overshadowing you knowledge of what Christ can do and how he has made all things available at your disposal. The KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST says exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think God is able to do according to the power that works in us. Also, whatsoever ye ask the father in my name….. HE WILL SURELY DO
So all of these thoughts and misconceptions is what Paul was referring to
Not those things they used to tell us those times. LOL
Now in the 6th verse.
Having captivated all those thoughts ehn to the obedience of what Christ says about you
Just very simple.
We ask that our eyes of understanding is enlightened.
And we see deeper than the shallow concepts of God’s word.
Your word says unto us it has been given the ability to comprehend things concerning the kingdom of heaven.
And we key into this declaring boldly that we are sons of God who knows of the unsearchable mysteries of the father.
