READ: Worship Leader's Concept Of Music - Apostle Raphael A. Macaulay (Summary Of Notes Taken Anonymously)

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Colossians 3 verse 14-15

The essence of spiritual songs is to teach and admonish the body of believers through the melody and lyrics of the songs.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
Singing with grace is having our hearts focused on the Lord (just like Christ centered preaching) such that the singing is done in the name of the lord and expressing the essence of the nature of Christ and his goodness to all men.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. JOHN 1:14

If we are to sing in the full consciousness of the grace of God in our hearts, it has to be with God in it. This can be into realization when the word of God dwells richly in the heart of the worship leader leading into spiritual songs.

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. ACTS 20:24
As we have been called unto our ministry, to testify to the gospel of the Grace of God, so are we to do with spiritual songs.

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: ROMANS 3:24
The song of a believer is a song of redemption. Not songs to build the guilt of other men.

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. ROMANS 11:5
As soon as the message is not putting \God first, the message is classed as one with no edification.
The concept of sprititual/Gospel songs is not to just write any form of lyrics and putting the name of Jesus somewhere in the middle just to get it to qualify with state standards of gospel music.
As much as music is meant to be enjoyed, nevertheless, what differentiates the gospel from other forms of music is the life it imparts and for such reason. It takes a spiritual man of the new creation to be a Worship leader.

According to 1 Samuel 16 V 13-18, there is need for you as a worship leader to be a man of the Word, skill and prayer.
you are meant to be skillful as that is the requierement ofor ministering God.
you may be anointed but you will not be seen as a singer until you acquire the necessary skills.

Things to Note:
1. You make noise in the fathers ear if not singing about the salvation
2. What is the usefulness of a lead singer without backup singers in corporate worship
3. Diction and mouth formation is very essential in the delivering of the content of a song to the congregation
4. be aware of the environment type you are to minister as you should be conversant with managing your projection to fit the type of environment watching out for echoes and reverbs
5. Sweetness is a function of skill
You need to know where to be in professionality and Spirituality (1 Chronicles 15 v 25-29)
6. Talent is raw and must be refined by training
7. A singer without warmups isn't faithful
8. Vocal techniques are a proof to Vocal health
9. It is not about talent/gift, but skill matters a lot
10. When praying as a singer, do not do things excessively, do not strain your vocal chords by shouting
11. Master your registers
12. Train yourself, train hard.
13. Don't shovel off difficulties faced in singing. Struggle to master them.
14. It is much easier for the Holy Spirit to work through a man that has skill than he that knows next to nothing.

17. If you have not been training, don't try.
