READ: The Christian Can Never Operate Under A Closed Heaven by Rev. Ade Adebayo

The Christian can never operate under a 'closed heaven' and this is so primarily because he has a permanent abode in heaven in Christ. Praying for 'open heavens' is totally contrary to the mind of God. Though our bodies are here in earth, we are spiritually positioned and seated with Christ in the heavenly places. No demon or principality can hinder or delay prayers in Christ.

At Daniel 10:13, the prayer of Daniel was hindered by a certain prince of persia and many have built their beliefs on this. The christian is being portrayed as one whose prayers can be hindered too by devils but this is very out of place. The believer in Christ is in a better position than Daniel. Daniel was praying from earth to heaven but the believer is praying for heaven to heaven! We have been placed far above all principality and power.

Eph 1:21-23; 'Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.'

Eph 2:6; 'And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ...'

Col 2:9-10; 'For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power...'

We have a very rare advantage where prayers are concerned in Christ which is described as praying in the spirit. This is the kind of prayer that never existed before Christ. No one understands this except God (1 Cor 14:2). And some have said this is how to hide our prayer from satan so he doesn't hinder it. This is false. The reason we pray in tongues is not to hide the content of our prayers from satan. Even if prayers are offered in a known language in the name of Jesus Christ, no devil can hinder it. The Lord Jesus cast out demons and healed the sick by praying in a known language and there were results. The authority we have in Christ is what counts here and nothing more.
