READ: Evangelism (PART 1) - Apostle Raphael A. Macaulay

read teaching on evangelism by apostle raphael macaulay

Romans 10:13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15. And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?..." (Rom. 10:14)

The lost cannot call on Christ until they believe in Him... "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Rom. 10:10). Faith comes before confession. They must believe in Jesus before they confess His Lordship over their lives.

"...and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Rom. 10:14)

The lost cannot believe in Jesus, not without a preacher, until they hear about Him. Salvation becomes unreachable to the lost without a preacher of the gospel of Christ.

"And how shall they preach, except they be sent?..." (Rom. 10:15)

Every child of God has been sent to preach the gospel of Christ. We were saved to save others. The mandate, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15), is to every child of God. If you are born again, then you have been sent to preach the gospel to every creature. We all received the mandate of evangelism. We are to win souls.

But then, some of us want to have it all worked out before we go out for evangelism. We want the time to be perfect. We want the weather to be perfect. And sometimes, we want a specific kind of people to preach to, those who won't throw insults at us.

Inasmuch as we should have certain things worked out, we must never make evangelism depend on these things. For some, if it's raining, no evangelism. For some, if the crowd is too much, no evangelism. For some, it's just too early to go out for evangelism. For some, they don't just feel well when it comes to evangelism. But then, none of these excuses are excusable.

Do people go to hell on rainy days? Yes, if they died without knowing Jesus. That's why we must evangelize, rain or no rain. Nothing should hinder us from preaching the gospel. If you will consider the loss of the lost if you don't evangelize, you will evangelize. How many die and go to hell because we choose when to preach or not preach at all!

Are you still contemplating on whether to evangelize today or not? See this...

Proverbs 11:30, "The fruit of the righteous (is) a tree of life; and he that winneth souls (is) wise."

This clearly tells us that, not to win souls is foolishness. A wise believer wins souls. Evangelism is such that has eternal reward. Men may award you for a good service done; very well! But only God rewards. And He rewards those who take upon their heart the burden of souls. Only those who evangelize are truly working with God in His business. We are co-labourers together with God when we win souls.

It is too risky to evangelize only when it is convenient. You can't count the loss of souls when we want evangelism to be at our convenience. Hear this; we lost our right to ourselves to Christ when we became His. Let that sink in very well. You are the Lord's, and His burden should be yours too!

You are blessed!
