READ: Evangelism (PART 4) - Apostle Raphael A. Macaulay

John 3:16 (HCSB)For God loved the world in this way; He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Mark 16:15 (HCSB)
Then He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation."...

Luke 24:46 (HCSB)
He also said to them, "This is what is written: the Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead the third day, and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The preaching of the gospel is truly the gospel only when it exalts Christ's finished work on sin. It is no gospel of Christ if it is silent on what Jesus has done concerning sin. It is no gospel of Christ if it condemns. We preach Christ when we preach the forgiveness of sins through faith in His name. That's how men are saved and the miracles happen.

So then, evangelism is our mandate and soul winning is our ministry; and the one who takes this upon himself is wise...

Proverbs 11:30; The fruit of the righteous (is) a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

He that does not win souls is not wise. It is foolishness not to win souls as a believer. We indirectly help the devil in keeping men bound in darkness if we don't win souls. That's the foolishness therein. But when we go out for evangelism and win souls, we give life to men. When we preach Christ to men, we invite them to His (our) kingdom, the kingdom of life and life to all who believe; for life outside Christ is death.

The sinner is dead in sin and dead to God. He is a living dead; and such we were...

Ephesians 2
1. And you (hath He quickened,) who were dead in trespasses and sins;
5. Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Romans 5
6. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
8. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Colossians 2:13; And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses.

Even we (believers) were sometime dead in sin. We thought we were living, but alas, we were living indeed in sin! Dead in sin. Dead to God. But God made us alive through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

This is why a sinner cannot give his life to Christ; he has none. He's already dead in sin and dead to God. He has no life to give but life to receive. The sinner cannot give his life; he's dead. He can only receive the life of God by faith in Christ Jesus. You don't tell a dead man to give his life to Christ; he has none and can't give any. You tell him to receive the life of God instead.

That said,
Our fruit as God's righteousness in Christ Jesus is the life of God we reveal to men through the preaching of the gospel of Christ. We let men know how dead they are without Jesus, and how they can receive life in Him. We used to be dead in sin and dead to God, but not anymore. Hallelujah! The love of God found us and established us in God's grace which is in Christ Jesus. And now, from the abundance of love we have received of our Father, we give to men.

I wonder how we can claim to love God but don't win souls, when it was His love that reconciled us to Him while we were yet sinners (Rom. 5:6,8). If you love God, you will obey His word.

And His word says;
"Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).

Our obedience to the word of God above is our love for God expressed. If we truly love God, we will take up His burden, which is souls, for God wants all men to be saved.

1 Timothy 2
3. For this (is) good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

God wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, and Christ is the truth, which is the word we preach...

John 14:6; Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.
John 17:17; Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy word is truth.

<Jesus is the way to the Father, and of the Father. He is God's way! We access the Father by Him.
<Jesus is the truth of the Father. He is God's truth! We know the Father through Him.
<Jesus is the life of the Father. He is God's life! We receive the Father's life through Him.

His death was for our condemnation; His resurrection is for our justification. By Him and in Him everyone who believes is justified. Satan loses his power over these ones. Hallelujah!

Prayer...
Dear Father, grant to me boldness to declare Your word everywhere I go, so that many be turned to You. Amen.

You are blessed!
