READ: In The Local Church (PART 3) - Apostle Raphael A. Macaulay

In the second teaching, we saw that there are men you shouldn't give your ears to. Their mission is not to perfect you but to destroy you. They lie in wait, looking for that one opportunity to devour the unsuspecting. They are wolves in sheep's clothing; they are deceivers and manipulators.

Beloved, you've got to know that God has your interest at heart, and that's why He gave the ministry gifts to the church; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. And this would go on till the church attain the full stature of Christ (Eph. 4:11-13). Hallelujah!

These are the men you need to teach you...

1. Your spiritual leaders...

Ephesians 4:11-13
11. And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;
12. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ...

2. Faithful men. They must have learned before they can teach. They must have been committed to a local assembly and have served with evidence to show. These ones can teach you.

2 Timothy 2:2
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit though to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3. Elders who rule well. These must have laboured and are labouring in your word. Your Pastor is an elder.

1 Timothy 5:17
Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
4. Those who labour among you. They are your leaders; they admonish you...

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13
12. And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are  over you in the Lord, and admonish YOU;
13. And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. (And) be at peace among yourselves.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16. All scripture (is) given by inspiration of God, and (is) profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Perfect? Yes. For the perfecting of the saints! So, it's an ongoing work in you at your local church. Scriptures are the tool needed for the training of believers.

Some, because they don't want to be rebuked when they err, don't belong to a local church. Some, because they don't want to be checked in their excesses and new found rhema, don't belong to a local church. They rather stand aloof.

The local church is for doctrine, reproof, correction and instructions; these are done by teaching, as doctrine itself is teaching.

Don't be a believer who has itching ears, that when he's rebuked, he leaves the church. Don't be among those who despise their God-given men, following the trend of confused and unruly men who walk in dishonor.

Be given to sound doctrine,
Be given to reproof,
Be given to correction,
Be given to instructions.

These are what make you mature in the faith.
Be committed to a local church, a Bible teaching local church.

You are blessed!
